I talked about it at a place today.
1. Life doesn't go as planned, especially those who have thrived on merit from a "competence" standpoint.
There are many talented people. It is easy to see with simple calculations.
The term "1% of Korea" is sometimes popular, but in fact, 1% is not high in terms of grades. Since it is 1 in 100 people, it is 1 in 2 classes for the older generation, and now it is 1 in 3 classes for the older generation. It is not enough to be the 1st in the school.
Back in the day, when the number of college students was close to 1 million, I think it would have to be roughly the top 0.02% to be able to choose any university or department in Korea. Now it's down a lot, so let's just think about 0.05%. It's a huge ranking, right? But when it comes to numbers, it's about 150. If it's 150 people a year, it's 1500 people in 10 years. That's not a small number. Just think about how many people in our country are going to be able to hear that great genius. That's about the number of people who can go anywhere they want in the college entrance exam. But are they going to be okay? No. After all, there's a lot of people who don't work out. What's the difference? Ability? No. At this point, everyone has a great ability. Ability is fundamental. It's luck, after all, that determines "release."
In fact, luck matters even for the "pick-to-pick grades" we're talking about right now. In a world where one problem separates schools, how much does the ability work to solve another problem and not solve it? Even if I was in the top 0.05%, the most important factor in determining that is luck.
It's more important than I think whether or not I accept that what I have is basically contingent on luck. If you forget that and don't appreciate it, the moment your luck slips, your life can fall into the abyss, even though you still have a lot of it.
2. That luck might work strangely.
I think I was lucky, too, but not all lucks were. I took the bar exam with the intention of obtaining a certificate to make money, not for justice or social reform. I got lucky, but my luck didn't go away. I don't know if it's my life's goal to take the bar exam, but what's the point of being lucky if I only took the test to make money and didn't make good money?
Am I right to think that every test I took is pointless? That's not true. Anyway, I'm grateful that I got on the test, and if I didn't, my life would have been weirder.
So luck doesn't mean you're lucky, and it's still something to be thankful for.
Again, living doesn't go as planned.
3. Even in the event of a near-death tragedy, it is often overcome by taking a breather and taking a step back. The bottom line is, for those who have suffered it, "Hey, take a breather and take a step back," doesn't do much good. DEAR T-energetic: Even a human being can become distracted when unexpected setbacks come upon him. They need time. Eventually, they will pass, so they should be given time to let go.
However, it is important to remember that it eventually flows, and that after it flows, it is often just one bad luck. When you experience unexpected setbacks, they end up being very helpful.
So I must be humble in the face of the universe. Just not forgetting that what is given to me is the result of luck, that there are so many as capable as me, can change my life a lot.
So I'm going to buy a lottery ticket this week, hoping to gather the energy of the whole universe.
