The Crumbling Backfire of South Korea's IT Industry

Two years ago, I personally predicted through FACEBOOK that Samsung Semiconductors are in a structural crisis, not a temporary difficulty, and without truly groundbreaking self-rescue efforts, they will end up on the path of collapse

Two years ago, no one had ever publicly pointed out the crisis in Samsung's semiconductor industry, but now media reports have completely changed it

The problem is that Samsung Semiconductor is not the only one on the path to collapse. What I want to point out today is the fact that SK Telecom and KT, which have played the most important roles in building basic infrastructure for Korea's IT industry, are collapsing, putting them at a considerable disadvantage in responding to the AI era as well as the development of the IT industry in the future

Statistics over the past 25 years show that nominal GDP has tripled, while SK Telecom and KT's market capitalization has decreased by more than 40 to 80%, making it difficult to invest in infrastructure needed for the IT industry in Korea, and it is no coincidence that Korea, once the world's No. 1 Internet speed, is now falling to 28th place  

If you go like this, it will be difficult to expect any results no matter how hard you try to develop by riding on the AI era where everyone is excited in Korea
