Before writing, the memory and spontaneous thinking ability of people in oral culture were far superior to those in writing culture. In other words, from a certain point of view, it can be said that writing has deteriorated human thinking ability. But did writing make humans fools?

Humans have built-in ideas, but they don't allow texts to record them. Because of recording technology, complex thoughts are possible. Even before recording technology, complex thinking was possible, but recording technology allowed the entire human society to form a huge civilization.
It was possible to build a huge civilization by stacking complex ideas like building blocks. It is easy to overlook the text and record civilization that is taken for granted, but the accumulation of records and information alone has taken humans to another level.

With the advent of the foundation model, the tool for building thoughts itself has changed. Just as characters use recorded knowledge away from relying on memory as they appear, the foundation model immediately combines vast amounts of ideas.

In other words, you can get help in thinking more abstract and higher-orderly. The process of elaborating and refining thoughts while communicating on complex topics is drastically shortened.
Needless to go all the way to AGI, the foundation model is already bringing about a big change in the area of human thinking. It is the same as the text enabled the creation of complex literary works.
On an individual level, creativity may be sacrificed a little, but creativity explodes in terms of humanity as a whole.
