The reason why Vietnamese people are slim

In Vietnam, it is hard to find fat people. When you go to Thailand, the Philippines, or Malaysia, you are a fat lady named Cheonji, but there are usually a lot of skinny people here. This is also confirmed statistically. According to the worldpopulation review data, the average weight of Thai women is 57kg, 159cm tall, 154cm tall in Indonesia, 55kg, 157cm in Malaysia, 64kg in the Philippines, 154cm and 54kg in the Philippines, compared to Vietnamese women who are 156cm tall and 52kg. This is the same for men.

The reason why Vietnamese people are slim is that they are diligent unlike other Southeast Asian people. When I first studied Vietnamese, I was surprised to learn that breakfast here is divided into two tenses. In Vietnam, breakfast is divided into morning (Bo ̉ sáng: about 6:00-10:00) and morning (Bo ̉: about 10:00-12:00). Early morning markets start at 6 a.m. and elementary schools start at 7 a.m. (8 p.m. in big cities such as Ho Chi Minh City). That's how busy they are in the morning. Although they take a nap in the tropical heat, Vietnamese people are diligent and hardworking, so they can't afford to lose weight.

However, the main reason is the food. Vietnamese food is relatively less fried and high-calorie fast food is not popular compared to other Southeast Asian dishes. Vietnamese cuisine prefers light and healthy recipes such as steamed, boiled, and grilled. They also seek a clean taste rather than greasy food. This is what sets them apart the most from foods from Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines, where fried food has a relatively large number of dishes. Vietnamese representatives such as rice noodles, Bun Cha, Vietnamese spring rolls, gum sweat saigon, and after a while, Banjjang-kkuontiheo, Mi-kang, and Kaorau are non-greasy and low in calories. Unlike other Southeast Asian countries, Vietnam eats a lot of vegetables and is a healthy place to eat. If you keep eating greasy food, you will get skin trouble and your stomach will grow bigger.

The use of fresh herbs and vegetables, such as mint, coriander, basil, lime, and bean sprouts, stands out in Vietnamese cuisine. This adds a refreshing taste to the dish, and it is a factor that sets it apart from other Southeast Asian cuisines. Vietnam has the most vegetarian restaurants in Southeast Asia. Also, fermented fish sauce is a must in Vietnamese cuisine. This sauce adds a deep umami to the dish, and most of all, it has a high absorption of digestion.

Now, the world is in the war against obesity. The obesity treatment market surpasses the semiconductor market. However, if you try to overcome obesity through healthy food rather than solve the problem with medicine, Vietnamese food can be an alternative. If you come to Vietnam, I hope you eat a lot of Vietnamese food. The price is much cheaper than other foods.
