Hive vs. Min Heejin

There are so many people who express their opinions regardless of their field that I can't get out of it all week.

While I can't get away from it, some people seem to have not yet escaped the manufacturing mindset (even that, it is now difficult for high-tech manufacturing to succeed with the existing manufacturing mindset), and many people seem to lack a detailed understanding of laws and contracts. The law here is not specific right or wrong (of course, the results vary greatly depending on the room for interpretation), but the abstract concept of law and contract itself is why it exists in our society in the first place.

Min Hee-jin's contribution to the success of New Jeans, the extent of the appropriate compensation, and the contents of the contract (which no one has actually seen), seem to be divided in three main areas. I think those who judge the response to the incident by "jobless, social life", etc. are a bit scary. It does not tolerate diversity of opinions on matters that cannot be judged clearly, because these people are likely to be very difficult to get along with when there is a complete disagreement. To be more straightforward, it is highly likely that it will not help a society formed for the purpose of common survival of mankind.

A few weeks ago, I talked with my parents and shared the opinion that "in-house politics is also an ability," and I think that communication with the public, image, and frame-making are the core abilities of people like the entertainment business. Creative directing, which seems to be extremely close to art, can ultimately be seen as a strategy for how to communicate with target consumers through what medium, and Hive's release of a press release on this incident first can be seen as an intention to frame Min Hee-jin to the public. In this situation, I think it is out of the question to discuss "the right tone and manner, outfit for press conferences." What is important to Hive or Min Hee-jin at this point is (1) preoccupying legal superiority and (2) rights to New Jeans IP.

(1)As for Hive, I think it is difficult to say that it has the upper hand. How can he take over the management right when Min Hee-jin, the CEO, already has it? As lawyer Lee Hyun-gon said, hostile M&A is not illegal. It is inappropriate to see it as a professional breach of trust. Min Hee-jin is the CEO of Adore, not the Hive management. Even if Adore actually tried to become independent from Hive, this cannot be seen as contrary to Adore's interests. It is difficult to say it definitively because this is a part that divides opinions even among lawyers, but if Hive had a clear legal advantage, I don't think he would have bothered to play the media on "exercise the audit right" or "unparty management". For reference, there is a 'snarrative' that a domestic semiconductor company selected the factory site after hearing what the chairman said by a shaman.

(2)I think Min Hee-jin has an overwhelming advantage. Without New Jeans' huge fandom, the value of New Jeans IP can be considered to converge to zero due to the nature of the entertainment business. Since Min Hee-jin was the one who planned and created New Jeans, and the current public opinion of the fandom overwhelmingly supports Min Hee-jin, the right to the human asset called New Jeans is highly likely to belong to Min Hee-jin. If New Jeans IP belongs to an Adore corporation, and you refute what it means, I think it is a sound that the corporation does not know that it is a legally formed personality, that is, a shell. After all, moving the hearts of New Jeans members and their fandom is a core ability and a fight that only that person can win, and Min Hee-jin has an overwhelming advantage here.

I think Min Hee-jin's claim that "If it weren't for Hive's system and global network, New Jeans could have been this successful" is a sound that the global entertainment industry does not really know. The entertainment industry is always bent on discovering and fostering new stars. Systems and networks are not a part of the competitive advantage in a market where everyone is crazy about new IP. A four-member indie band of my friend, who was close in high school, received more than $500,000 in love calls from world-class labels with one song recorded in MacBook Aero, and signed a contract with a record label that fits them.
